Our valued finance and admin manager, who has been with us for many years, will retire, and we are now looking for the right person to replace him.

Smallworld Nordic is an IT consultancy, development, and software distributor that operates as one nordic company through three different companies in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. We are 26 employees serving Scandinavia's large and midsize Telco and district heating companies. Our turnover is approximately 60 million NOK across Scandinavia. We also hold ownership in two other companies and manage their books.

We are looking for:

We are looking for a Head of Finance & Administration, that reports directly to the CEO and will be a part of the management team. You will also coordinate the work around the Board together with the CEO and the Chairman of the board. 

In addition, you will supervise the accounting function in different countries and the administration of the HR function. You have responsibility for our accounting function, which today is one person. 

The head of finance and administration reports to the company's CEO and is responsible for our finance department, which works with budget, accounting, and contact with our auditors. 

You will be part of the company's operational management and play an important role in its development and pursuit of economic growth.

You will be responsible for budgets, forecasts, monthly accounts, and salary, and you will be an important sparring partner for the company's CEO, controller/bookkeeper, sales manager, and head of service and delivery.

Part of the economy is also tied up in procurement agreements with our suppliers. Your role is to set quality standards within contracts, contribute to negotiating good contracts, and follow up with suppliers.

We are a relatively young team, with high ambitions and good and long relations to our customers.

You will be working from our head office in Oslo, but should expect some travel to our other locations in Denmark and Sweden.

Your Tasks:

  • Monthly financial and operating reporting according to our KPI
  • Overall responsible for finance, budgeting and planning
  • Identify areas for improving the financial result and make sure the stakeholders receive a good return on their investment.
  • Responsible for the company’s legal matters as well as tax regulation for the companies in all countries we operate in
  • Filing of the statutory books and cooperating with auditors
  • Make sure it is a good Cost Control and act as a controller in cooperation with the accounting controller
  • Manage contracts for customers, external partners, and vendors.
  • Overall responsible for salaries in cooperation with the accounting controller and CEO
  • Assist the CEO with financial company strategy.
  • Assist the management team with HR management, recruiting and on/off-boarding.
  • Responsible for internal personal policies. (Personal Handbook & Routines)

Your skills and competencies:

  • In this position, you will be a vital business partner for the management. Your knowledge, experience, and analysis will form the basis for optimising the decision-making power to ensure the company’s continued economic growth.
  • You have the qualifications to manage a finance department from A to Z.
  • You are business-oriented and have a keen eye for how the finance department can contribute to the task-solving of other departments and to the company's overall objectives.
  • You are a skilled personnel manager who can motivate and develop employees.
  • You have a commercial mindset and a clear vision of how financial management should be done in a commercial company.
  • After completing your education, you may have 3-4 years of experience from a similar company.
  • You may have experience selling services or software in our market segments.
  • Good understanding of Scandinavian languages.
  • Strong skills in both written and spoken English language.

Description of  profile:

Since we are a small company with less than 30 employees but with growth ambitions, we primarily seek interested people with entrepreneurial skills. You may be young and have some practical experience or an experienced finance/admin person. In common, you must want to work with a group of talented people and contribute to creating a successful software company with the best and largest customers in our market segments.

You must be willing to educate yourselves on the competencies needed to operate in Scandinavian countries. 

You will be offered the opportunity to buy shares in the parent company, Smallworld Nordic Norway.
