Finally, Smallworld users could gather again to discuss the many aspects of network documentation at the User Group Meetings in Vejle, Denmark and Oslo, Norway, both taking place in the first half of November. In total, 60 people from customers and partners attented the meetings. In addition, Smallworld Nordic staff members were present to share insights and learn from the users' feedback. Each meeting was opened with a key note speaker: Annette Ibsen, Senior Advisor at the Danish IT Association, and Jørn Slåtten, director of the Norwegian Fibre Operator Association. Annette shared her views with the Danish audience on digitalisation, why it is desired, and yet so hard to achieve. In Oslo, Jørn introduced the work done on Robust Fiber best practices and explained the rationale behind the new infrastructure web-portal introduced by Government.

Our customers contributed significantly to the programs by sharing how they have utilised Smallworld solutions to become more efficitent and better in their work processes. In Denmark, Lone G Jørgensen at Fibia talked about how they had automated FTTH documentation, and Mari Møller-Hansen at EWII presented several improvements in their network planning and building. To the Norwegian audience, John M Malerbakken at GlobalConnect explained their work with data quality improvements and Morten Lømo at Telenor shared how network inventory data improves fault correction. The agendas also included essential topics about our solutions, such as GEs roadmap, practical use of PNI, logical documentation, web clients and land survey measurement solutions. Both meetings were ended with workshops where the participants discussed real-life work processes and how to improve them. Also, tools to comply with public rules and regulations on registration and reporting of exact locations of infrastructure, imposing demands on networks owners, were presented and demonstrated. The feedback we have received, both face-to-face and in the survey issued after each meeting, is overwhelmingly positive with respect to topics presented, logistics, loaction, meals and the time to interact with other colleages in the business.Below are som pictures of the events to illustrate the turnout, engagement and viewes.Vejle, Denmark
